    BMW rear suspention transplant

Good evening all ive been toying with the bmw rear suspention transplant for some time now ,and was just wondering what the best route to go was ie monarch or is there an alternative route for this conversion(im going to change the wheels to 16" rm2image alloys anyway)so thought it best to do the swap first.

    many thanks as always

Last time I spoke about this to a club member he said buy a 3 series!

What about the weslake diff conversion?

If youre happy with the wheel change fit the whole lot though.

As far as I know monarch kit is the only kit, the rest are home made.

Hi Keeny,Yes I have the whole BMW backend so does Stoutgoose and Gistan I think.I got the Monarch Kit but I was Ian's first customer for this since he bought the business of Johnathan Finnes .There were quite a few snags to work through as I dont think much R & D work was handed over to Ian on this mod.Obviously now he knows whats what with the tweaking that we did together on it and with a couple of others he has sold.If you don't want to spend £1000 on image wheels ,the new mini wheels will work.
If you need more details just let me know.

        Cheers Steve

            Hello Keeny
The only alternative to the Monarch kit is to DIY, however this will require a lot of head scratching, and A1 welding skills, I thought about DIY and although I would have enjoyed the challange of making it work my welding skills are fine for bodywork, but not good enough for stress the welds would be subjected too.
I had the kit after Stagdad and the snags he refers to were not rectified, and parts had to be returned for modification, but i`m sure Ian is fully aware of the corrections required.
As Stagdad noted the BMW Mini wheels fit the rear with adaptors / spacers required for the front.
