Clutch reservoir

Hello to all.

I have a corroded and leaking clutch reservoir. All the usual supplier seem not to sell them anymore.

Does anyone know of a repair that can be done or an alternative part that would suit.

Hi, the originals are not available any more. I believe LD part are looking into getting them re manufactured. Your best bet is to find a second hand one, or look at motorbike brake/clutch reservoirs.

Depending on how bad the corrosion/hole is in the reservoir, you might be able to patch it up with liquid metal. Same happened to me and I tried this approach. Held water OK so I would assume it would hold the fluid. I managed to get hold of another second hand reservoir and fitted that instead.

Perhaps worth a try as a temporary stop gap if you have no other option and want to get back on the road until the LD part comes along?

I'll have a look at the one that was in the box of "bits" I got recently. It is available free to a good home for the cost of the postage if its OK. Will check tomorrow and let you know if you can wait.

Have had a proper look. Removed the reservoir from the master cylinder and it looks OK. (Still had some fluid in it!) You can have it if you want. just let me know can sort for the cost of the postage (around £4.00 I would guess)

You can have the whole thing or just the reservoir.... the whole thing would be about £5.00 to post. The master cylinder looks ok from the outside but is seized solid.... Scrap in my opinion but you are welcome to it to try to repair. I don't need it as I will probably stick with the auto box I have for now.

Thanks to all for the ideas. StagnJag idea of a bike reservoir (bake brake)seems very good. If no new ones become available, I will start to search around.
