    Jaguar ZF gearbox

    Hi Guys

Following the problems with snapped power steering bracket bolt I've decided to take the engine out, take the head off (still struggling with this one) and helicoil. While doing this I would like to replace the auto BW35 with the Jag ZF unit. Has anyone done this and can you tell me which gearbox I need please. There's a couple on Ebay but I'm not sure which one is suitable.

Are there any mods required to the bell housing or drive shaft etc and is it a DIY job?

        Hi Easyrider,

I've fitted a ZF HP4 22 gearbox, a Clive Tate kit, into my car and am very pleased with it. I believe the gearbox came out of a Jaguar XK40 car, probably a 2.9litre Jaguar XJ6. However I cannot be certain. Clive used a standard Stag gear sdelector mechanism and, I believe, a BW bellhousing. I hope this points you in a useful direction.

        Regards

        Peter
