Paint or plate???

I was wondering whether to paint or plate my bonnet stay??

Does anyone know what Triumph did? A general look through Triumph Worlds, www etc shows a general trend towards plate but I thought I would ask the question.

Voting, including a search of google images and one vote for plated from James Paddocks says.....

7 plated to 3 Painted.

So its off to Niphos in Crewe for a polish and plate.



btw - That is the best Dolomite in the World, probably.

Cadmium plate and passivate was a standard finish on many ordinary engineered items when these cars were built. Cadmium is not so popular now because of 'environmental' reasons.:P
