you may have seen the adverts for Guitar hero for the various games platforms? Well, the biggest kid in the house had to have it and it isnt easy. Alice Cooper's schools out for summer never sounded so bad, only hitting 60-70% of the notes at low speed but in the various parts of the tune when you get it right, pump up that volume!!!

I have it for the Wii - I get very frustrated when I KNOW I have hit the correct button absolutely on time but the note is missed.... I'm beginning to think it's some sort of delay with the wireless system on the Wii....
My fave song is Slow Ride by Top Hat...
It certainly couldn't be my "playing"....that's my story anyway!

Russ,
I know that delay(Wii as well) , but had it down to the Rioja!. Very annoying when you miss the long ones and you cant push the bar and swing the guitar with loads of colour and noise (mostly from people complaining to turn it down!)
Great fun. I have only tried a couple of tracks so far, so can comment on the tunes...yet

Turns out through searching the world wide wait that this is a problem - the delay that is - the latent lack of talent is taken as read.......... but there is a cure for the delay (but not the lack of talent)
found this on the Wii forum
If your TV is an HDTV, then you definitely need to set the lag. If not, you may need to set your lag anyway.
Go to options, choose "VIDEO" then choose "Calibrate Lag". First run a quick pre-test be selecting calibrate, and strum to the notes you see run down the picture as they hit the target. Once your SURE you need to set your TV, scroll down to the number and select a delay time. The bigger your TV, the longer the delay. Once you've set one, choose calibrate again and see if it's easier to hit the notes. If it's not, choose a new number. If it is, go ahead and play a real song and see what happens!
So there you go...... I'm going to try it later....

I have a Strat and a Precision Bass and struggle to get a note out of either that wouldn't get my neighbours calling an ambulance.... once maybe it would have been possible but now my left hand won't always do as instructed.... my middle finger seems to semi dislocate at the first joint and lock, without pain, and there is something odd with the nerves so thereis sometimes a loss of feeling in the fingersbut the doctor is putting it down to old age - not even 49 yet:?

Don't feel too bad aboutthe first joint on your middle finger, mine seems to involuntarily lockwhere my finger meets my handas all the other fingers clench into a fist. this usually happens on the road after I've been carved up or almost "T boned" by some lunatic!

My best mate from my school days lives in Salehurst near Robertsbridge so I'll be spending a few days with him if that's closer for you. I'm afraid I'm otherwise engaged forall Saturday afternoons whilst in theUK, I've promised to take my son and his cousin to UptonPark to watch the Hammers!
