Inhibitor switch issue

I have a problem with starting on odd occasions. The odd occasion been when you don't Want it to happen

With the car in park position I turn the key and nothing.
Up and down the box nothing.
Put in nutral and it works.
After that park works again until the next time.

Any ideas?

It's been suggested that this prob, which I have, is adjustable, it may be that the selector link is too short, easy to lengthen from below, mark the current position, so that if that doesn't cure it you have a starting datum, and it's the switch its self. Martin.

I had this problem and adjusting the rod cured it. Mind you it did take an incident where I left it running on choke in park (I thought) and it picked reverse and tried to put it's self back in the garage with the door shut I fixed it that week, it's surprising how quick you can move when you have to

Will have a look at the adjustment.
Probably mine is marginal which is why it is intermittent I hope.
