Proposed Forum run to North Wales on Saturday 2nd July

    Hi All

Who is interested in a run out to Betws-y-Coed on Saturday 2nd July? Outward route as follows:-

    Meet near Wrexham
    A5104 to Corwen
    A5 to to Betws-y-Coed

At Betws, stop for lunch and a look around the town and railway museum etc.

    Return via:-

A470 to Trawsfyndd for a stop by the lake.
    A4212 to Bala
    A494 to Corwen
    A5 to Ruabon

All runners and riders will be given a printed copy of the route at the start so they can navigate it themselves. It is not my intention to travel in a slow moving convoy. If we get split up, we can simply meet up at the next staging point. The aim is to have some fun driving the cars along decent roads through superb scenery. The speed will be as brisk as the traffic conditions permit. If you only like to potter along in your pride and joy then this is not a run for you.

I am looking for about 6 cars. Let me know if this appeals to you.

    Regards

    Bruce

Betws is a nice place Bruce, used to visit there quite a bit when lived just up the road in Glan Conwy.
As well as the Railway Museum there is a minature railway that runs through the countryside starting at the Museum, and worth a ride on.
In fact a good place to park if you get stuck for parking places is round the back of the main road on the lane that goes to the rear of the Museum.
Nice suspension bridge over the river there too.

          Hi Terry

Yes its a nice place. We had several family holidays in that area during the 70's and 80's. My son loved the minature railway when we visited a few years ago so we had several trips on it.

Poor take up on the trip so far though.

              Hi BRuce

The Stag is with Keith Tynwald for a few days for diff seals, tappet adjusting and then MOT next week. If all goes well, could be up for this, but won't know till into next week.

                      Hi Bruce

No sign of my Stag returning from Keith's. In fact I can't even reach him on the phone to get an ETA at the moment. Given that it still has to be MOT'd and taxed, this weekend looks very unlikely indeed. I seem to be destined not to get your runs out. One day!!

                        Hi Gord

Don't worry about it. Seeing as people either weren't interested or could not come due to other commitments the run is no longer happening.

Despite that we are still going out as a family to enjoy the weather in the Stag. The plan at the moment is to end up at Big J's pub after a run out and a visit to a local National Trust property. Having been decorating the Living Room every evening this week I am fed up with the smell of paint and want to get out in the open air.

                        Regards

                        Bruce
