I have emailed James (And will forward the email to him if I am aallowed to) at ebay to see if I can get the guys account on ebay closed. Unfortunately I wouldnt mind betting a few guys here have used him for parts... I have before today. Always thought his adverts were a little bit negative and patronising but never realised what a crass guy he was. Anyway we will see the outcome and keep interested parties informed.
For me this very important infomation for all SOC members I am sure a lot of us use Ebay as a parts source
I think the forum is a very useful place to disclose any bad practice by sellers it can save us all a lot of grief, also if dodgy sellers read the posting's it may also encourage them to change their way's Graham

Know what you mean, and what you would like to achieve, but with a 99.4% score on 33566 feedbacks, I doubt they would do much. He is bringing them too much revenue

Well the SOC is (as I understand it ) the largest classic car club in the world and as we know there is strength in numbers so if we mark the cards of the sellers and I'me sure the members are amoung the biggest buyers so the message is IGNORE US AT YOUR PERIL

I don't expect Ebay to do anything realisticaly and in any case it hasnt cost me any money. It is more my intention to ensure everybody on here who uses Ebay can make informed desicions on who they buy from. The abusive email has little or noeffect on me. I have work all over the world in an engineering capacity in ship yards to coal mines so a few swear words don't mean much.... every day language, but I know how a seller should treat his customers and I know at some point given the chance this guy is more than likely going to take my money and not deliver any goods.
I know the other seller mentioned in this thread and have met him personaly and I don't believe he is in the same category. I will only buy cheap stuff from him though because he is never going to undersell anything. He has an idea of the real value of an item and will remove the item from sale to make sure he doesnt under sell and the point is that, as upsetting as it is if you think you could get a bargain, Ebay won't and can't take any action against him... (He doesnt actually miss out because he buys cars for next to nothing and breaks them)

            C'est la vie

Single model classic car club perhaps?

But you are right about businesses treating their customers with contempt - they will not last long.
