Thanks Julian, didnt think i was going to get an answer for a while there, i have been offered a full set of saab leather seats from a convertable, the stag is in the garage at the mo, tucked up away from the rain, and i'm off to London in the morning so wont be back till late

Distance between hole centres of the mounting points in the car varies between 40.6mm and 41.2mm.

Measurements on the bodywork is no problem for me at the moment and I am up and about anyway - dreaded TÜV (MoT) for the old Escort at 1 pm, so checking lights, horn and washing oil off the underside!!!

It varies between 2 rods, 1 perch and 57/128 of an inch and 2 rods, 1 perch and 78/256 of an inch. The average between them being

thanks drew, just mailed him and he can work in both now have it, the runners are 2cm too wide, toying with fabricating a bracket to fit them
