On another car forum which I belong to, we have a scheme whereby a buyer can advertise that he has bought an item and where it is located, to see if anyone can deliver it as a favour if they are doing a similar journey themselves. A case of like minded enthusiasts helping each other out.
Can be a long shot, but it can work well. I've collected parts from the North West and the Midlands and delivered them to fellow forumites as I travel around the UK with my work.

i have used pallet force to get a gearbox picked up and delivered they even provided the pallet price was £60 + vat picked up in cheltnham and delivered helston cornwall
where are the parts you need collecting located? I am coming down from the North East to the London area at some point in the next week or so to collect some stuff and am also going to the British Grand Prix next Friday till Sunday. So I could maybe collect, if nearby and bring down for you??

mainly classic car parts as i used to do autojumbles
i use myhermes as they are cheap and all you do is weigh the item once parcelled up they are not worried about sizes of parcells within reason....

I always us http://www.apc-overnight.com/ for mainland stuff,£10 up to 10kg,£1 for every kg over that,delivered before 4pm the next day.But I do pop them in to the office ,not sure if they pick up for that price.
