The GTC is a nice car as Reliants go, and I wouldn't be ashamed to drive one - however to compare it with the Stag is a bit rich...... OK - being a plastic pig would mean body rot isn't an issue, but the styling, compared to the Stag, leaves a lot to be desired.
I think the price is a tad optimistic for an overgrown pencil sharpener too
I have to admit to fancying one of these when they came out, but couldn't afford a 'toy' back then. Although I think the GTC still looks good, the Stag interior hasn't dated as much as that 'tart's bedroom' upholstery in the Reliant.

The seller's hit the nail on the head using the word RARE why because it wa'nt popular then and it's not popular now how do we know this ? check out the punter's scrambling to bid on this. It look's like a kit car, It drives like a kit car, and different manufacturer's contributed to the construction, OH It is a kit car. PS Sorry only IMHO

Will you stop beating about the bush and tell us if you like it or not??
I like it. Don't get me wrong, always the Stag first but I think it has the look of the era about it. it's a good engine apart from the timing gear issues it had and IIRC it's not an interference engine so no major damage occurs. I would assume it has the ford C3 gearbox as well which is pretty bullet proof. the price is a bit rich I must admit. I'd have one in my collection along with a Jensen Healy
I sit back now and wait for the flack
Ian.

not a bad motor but not in the same league as the stag.i thought that the timming gear problem was sorted with replacements that werent fibre and didnt strip every time you caned them.they had no major mechanical probs that i remember except overheating because everything was buried behind that spare wheel. its just all that plastic everywhere inside the brown ones looked like the inside of a chocolate fondeau pot.........
