best way to remove floor section

I just located a car in a breakers yard about twenty miles from me, I plan to go see it this week end If the rear floor pans the part under the seat are good I might try to salvage them for my car. What is the best way to remove them I have a good selection of 18 volt battery tools drill grinder etc do not have cutting torch available. Is the floor panel spot welded in and if so about how many ? Just looking to see if i can salvage some parts from it. You do not get many Stags in California breakers yards also you can still go in and remove you own bits. Any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks Stuart

stuart if as you say its a scrapper dont worry just cut out more than you need all round with an angle grinder 41/2 inch with 1mm thick cutting discs you will wizz thru it and then tidy it up when you get home much easier.if you dont have power in the yard where its at, battery grinders are good (dewalt) with 1mm disc as they are not removing as much material in the cut.well thats my approach i could take all the time i want at home to get the pannel want by trimming the excess.
      good luck steve.............

I think Steve is right. If you try to locate and drill out the spotwelds you will be there all day.Especially if there is surface rust as you will have one hell of a job locating the spot welds. You need a battery angle grinder and some 1mm discs.

Thanks for the replies it makes sense cut out what i need and trim up later, the good thing is the guy who put me onto this car brought the parts to my work at lunchtime a really good scuttle very limited pitting and a full set of wipers, arms, nuts the lot for 60 dollars if the car is in as good a shape as this chrome was it may have a lot of parts, well I will find out this week end.
          Thanks Stuart

The floor pan, if it is original is one large piece front to rear, left to right so you will have to chop out the bit you want. Not really an option to remove the spot welds to get it out in one piece!!!

I echo the comments about the cruise lights. They normally fetch a good price on ebay!

The Stag badges that live below them are as rare as hens teeth as well! Especially this side of the pond!

Getting back on track, I always thought the best way to remove a section of Stag floor was just leave it covered with damp carpet and after a while it will turn red and fall out!
