I've just replaced my original alloys with chrome wire wheels. I bought 15" diameter wheels because decent 14" tyres are getting difficult to obtain locally. I also went to 6" width. My car is also fitted with Tony Hart's lowered progressive rate springs. I had to roll the lip of the arch to prevent the rear tyres rubbing and used a arch roller that I bought from Ebay. I used a heat gun on the arch lip to prevent the paint from cracking as the lip was rolled.

The car feels a lot more "sure footed" with the larger wheels fitted and looks better, in my opinion too.

Here is a recent photo taken next to my mates car which has standard suspension and 14" minilites fitted. It's all a matter of personal choice really! If you don't like cleaning wheels, don't buy wires though!
regards,
Raoul
