Hi all, has anybody had any long term success with painting the lower fan guard ? I've tried Hammerite smooth but it doesn't last long. I know it takes some stick, but there must be something ! Martin.

Did mine with black underseal stayed on for a year no stone chips

Hi Martin. What about powder coating? Wait until an area member is having some work done and then drop it in the box

Mine seems OK with black smoothrite but I painted it on by brush rather than spray can if that makes any difference.

I also used smoothrite black brush painted three years ago and still fine.

As mine was very rusty i cleaned it up gave it a couple of coats or stone chip paint and colured it with satin black, looks good at the moment..

i put two coats of primer, then stone chip, and then painted blue (car is blue)

Hi Martin,

had mine Powder coated in silver when I was having the rest of my bits and pieces done.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll pass on the powder coating - though it sounds like the best option - cost and logistics I'm afraid. I think stone chip and black is the one for me. Thanks again. Martin.
