    Clutch cross shaft bush

A mate with a TR6 has come across a longer bush for the clutch operating shaft. TR6's seem to have their share of clutch operating bugs too.

The standard bush 137651 http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-137651 is very short and only sleeves part of the hole in the bell housing.

This special long TR6 bush sleeves out the hole of the hole and should provide, therefore, better support.

Is this mod known in the Stag world? Is it worth a try? What do you think?

    Drew,

You can put two standard Stag bushes in either side to spread the load out. The last time I did a Stag manual g/box I put a second set of bushes in alongside the original ones as they weren't worn.

I'm taking that as a sort of "worth a try" then with respect to elongating the sleeved surface?

OK Russ, then it definitely sounds like a good idea! Do you use two bushes or a long bush? I've not looked at mine yet - are they a simple push in, or a press-fit?

The TR guys also fit grease nipples - I think the TR4 shaft has them??
