Judging by the lack of replies to my earlier question, "are there any problems re choke cable fitting" I thought there was going to be trouble even though the job looked simple enough,( I hate being right ) the new cable did not fit the original knob after being told it would , the choke light switch would not operate properly as the location holes did not line up with the choke body I could not make it do so, then the outer choke cable parted company with the crimp end allowing the inner cable to twist and kink, I was unaware of this as it was out of site at the time.
I then resorted to what I do best.... bodge it, after straightening out the kinks sort of, duck taping the outer cables back, a self tapper was now holding on the choke knob (by now the stag was beginning to look like my old hillman hunter ! ).
I now have a sometimes working choke that is a bit stiff and jams up, I suspect the kinked wire is fouling things up, the sellers are being contacted to see if they will replace the cable as there was no effort involved in making these cables part company just poor quality.
At least I can use the car once I fiddle about with the choke , all good fun isn't it....Steve
