So I picked up my pride and joy on saturday with no problems, I was looking forward to taking my family out on a picnic on sunday.
A lovely relaxing drive to Promenade park in Maldon, accompanied by that lovely V8 burble (amplified by a slight exhaust blow somewhere) and all's good in the World.
My son kept putting the radio on and playing with the electric window, he got told off, as I didn't know what the battery was like. Lo and behold, we try to go haome and have a flat battery. I got a jump start, but as i was turning it over there was a small electrical fire, down underneath the left hand manifold! MARVELLOUS!
I put it out, cleared the area and tried to start it again. No fires this time and it seemed to run fine.
This is going to be a labour of love, i can tell!
