    Refurbishing rear light units

I am due to take my rear light units apart and give them a good seeing to with new clear lenses, bulbs and brighten up the bulb holders etc.

I know there are two grades of the rear light clear lenses being ones from a big retailer and others from Tony that don't crack or go milky. Question is, does anyone know who sells the good ones who will be at National?

Also, when I have the light unit bare, what is the best way to enhance the reflectors to produce more light? Spray paint or is there an aluminum material coating that you can get these days to stick on? What is best and more importantly, what will last? I want to get them as bright as possible without going down the LED route

Any experience or advice greatly appreciated
    Andrew

I did the reflectors in mine with Plasti-Kote chrome spray paint. not as good as the original coating but pretty good. I bought my covers from Rob Sport, 2/1/2 years ago and still look OK

I've used that Plasti - Kote stuff before and it's extremely good, it doesn't finish like chrome but it reflects perfectly. One thing to watch, don't touch it, it'll come off on your fingers. Martin.

Get your lenses from Robsport - they are guaranteed not to discolour. I have them on my car. The first set I bought from Rimmers went yellow. I do not know if they have changed their supplier now...

With reference to the reflective surface, we opted for the stick on mirror sheets - you do have to trim it and stick it on but the overall finish is very good. A few people have commented on them. See below

Thats great thanks. I should be getting a pair of lenses at National from Wards as they do the non milky supply and cant wait to fit them. Thanks for the ebay link, this I can do as I am in no rush and want to get it right. Cheers, Andrew
