    NGK v Champion

If you have been following my other threads re-misfiring etc you will know where I'm coming from with this question.

What plugs are you using? Have you tried NGKs and Champion any problems with either? Any other alternatives?

I can't find N12YCs on the shelf anywhere, which is a bit of an irritation.

I used NGK without problem on my Mk1, but my Mk2 has Champion plugs as I acquired a full set just after I bought it. I'm not sure where you would get a set of N12YC plugs now as the usual outlets (Halfords) don't seem to have them. They list NGK603 for the Stag.

You can get the Champs on ebay etc, but it would be nice to resolve this before heading up to Norfolk. I'm tempted to get a set of Halfords offerings (must dig out the trade card). If my plugs are indeed breaking down replacing then will prove it right away ( I hope).

I have a Plan B if the plugs are not at fault, but that involves curling up in the corner and having a little cry.

I have 12x N12YCC,in my shed at the mo, I had 2 boxes of 10 but gave 8 to someone recently, I have a mate clearing out all his old stock so when he returns from his Hol's in a couple of weeks I'll make a point of getting what he has left. when I have some news I'll post it and I'll pass them on for cost plus postage if anyone's interested.

                Ian.

Just thought I would add I am running a set Gold palladium wire tip's at the moments which the car seems to like

What is the difference between NGK BP5E and NGK BP5ES? Mine is fitted with the latter and runs very well.

the BP5E has a 'v' cut in the bottom of the electrode , the BP5ES doesn't

BPR5E from Halfords, silly money with a trade card. About 2/3 off from memory, so dig the card out.

NGK BP5E starts easily every time and runs beautifully.
Drive a Stag every day... it's wonderful!
