Overdrive indicator

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had fitted a light on the dash to indicate when the overdrive is engaged. I know it's not that hard to glance down but however much I drive the stag I always seem to forget and end up leaving it engaged as I change down and then back up the gears. I thought a light may help remind me to switch it off as I change in to second approaching a junction.

If people have pictures and details of how would be useful.

My Stag is automatic, but in my TR6 I have such a green light istalled right next to the radio. I find this very helpful - especially at night.

The Stag should be set up so that the overdrive will automatically switch out when you select 2nd or 1st. There is a switch in series with the gearlever switch and solenoid that only allows the OD to act in 3rd & 4th. I got into the habit of putting my thumb on the switch every time I used the gearlever to ensure the switch was where it should be for the next change. Habit I guess. Don't need to bother now I have a 'special needs' g/box.

As for those electronic gizmos: a complete waste of money. Totally unneccesary and a con IMHO.
