Flipping buzzers!

I have a buzzer on the stag for low water in the expansion tank.

The buzzer is annoying.

I would like to replace this, and install the same thing on my minu (for warnings)

What I would like is a bong, chime, or ping - as you get on modern cars (especially if you leave the lights on or forget to fasten your seat belts.

I've searched EVERYWHERE but cannot find it. Not even at Maplins.

Anyone got one?

Er, I would have thought that was the idea . The only time it should go off is when the water level is low, and in that case I would want something I couldn't ignore i.e. an annoying buzzer rather than an apologetic, polite 'bong, chime or ping'.

It used to be every day! Then I changed the thermostat gasket and now it's once every few weeks. Not ideal but I cant find the damn leak. It holds its oil brilliantly so just looking after the water is ok by me!

I'll be honest (not that I was lying) but this is more to do with the (proper) mini than the stag. I want to wire up a set of 4 lights to show if the boot, bonnet or doors are open. I'd like a ping to go with it - not a <<<BWAAAAAARGH>>> every time you get in or out.

The stag influence is that I can use it on the water level thing and not become grumpy. I want to keep the stag more original hence not going mad with LEDs and chimes etc!

Understand exactly what you need same as the seat belt warning on an aircraft, not intrusive but enough to take notice of. I think from memory that there is a module (look at ford light control) that has a small speaker built in looks like a normal 3 or 4 terminal relay that produces the sound.
If we have some at work where the "trainee firefighters" make them into to convertibles in less than 10 seconds I will see what's arround. I was looking for something like this for myself.

used the k-sel when the leak was RRREEEEAAALLLLYYYYY bad. It slowed it. Then I found the real culprit and it rarely buzzes. Might 'k-seal' again - now its not so bad.

Anyhoo - my conclusion is that on this site - trying to get hold of (as monty python put it) the machine that goes 'ping' cannot be found here, in halfords, in maplins, and at least 2 hours iternet searching.
To me - a 12v ping 'thing' should be easy to find since all new cars have it. Maybe a walk into - erm - 'hyundai's part counter can yield me bloody ping! Gaaaaaah!
