    Mitsuba petrol pump for Stag

    Hello everybody,

I already found that with my TR6 there were loads of problems with the original, mechanical petrol pumps and the newly produced ones (three new replacement pumps within one year!). So I replaced this one by an electronic Mitsuba pump (made in Japan). Mitsubas produce a pressure of 0.3 bar and there is no need of rerouting petrol into the tank. Mitsubas are "build in and forget about it" items.

As the pump in my Stag proved to look not very "trustworhy", I replaced it by a Mitsuba one, too, today. Again I am very pleased with it. It ticks happily telling me: "I am working!"

    Kind regards,
    Dieter.

That's not a fuel pump - it's a small Japanese nuclear reactor! Watch out for tsunamis!

      Mitsuba

      Hey, Nick,

I am afraid you misinterpreted the ticking...

On the other hand that very ticking sound is quite reassuring, as when you hear it, you know your petrol pump is working.

      Kind regards,
      Dieter.

        Hello,
I forgot to mention that now there is a fuel filter built in between tank and pump and a Kingfilter between pumpa and SU HIF6 carbs. The reason for that was that, when I dismantled The original SU fuel pump I fond a lot of brownish crud. Old fuel, which has dried or remainders of an old tank sealing?
        Kind regards,
        Dieter.
