    Stag Alloy Wheels

I recently changed my original alloy wheels for chrome wire wheels, this means I have 5 wheels and tyres taking up valuable space in my garage. I'm thinking of selling them on Ebay or advertising them in the local paper. I don't think there are too many other Stags locally so I would like advertise the wheels as fitting other makes and models of cars.

Does any body have any ideas of which vehicles the wheels will fit? I've heard rumours of MGBs and some Datsuns.

    Thanks in advance,
    Raoul

Certainly the Triumph big saloons (2000, 2500) and estates. Not sure about the MGB. The LE models had similar wheels but there is something different about the axle hub nut which allegedly causes problems fitting ordinary Stag alloys to the B.Advertise them with the PCD measurement and offset.Dave

Marco. I'm considering a switch to wire wheels too. Do you mind letting me know how much and where you got them from? Also, are they 14 or 15 inch? thanks...

yes they will fit MGBs however the centre caps will foul the rear wheel castle nut (centre hub nut). They are quite common on MGBs. The actual MGB LE alloy has a longer centre boss to clear the castle nut, they are quite rare and so fetch a premium. ( I've had 7 MGBs including one LE). I think they may also fit reliant Scimitars but not certain.

            Hi Richard,

I got mine from the TR shop in Chiswick, London. I bought 15" wheels that are meant to fit the TR6. I have lowered, progressive rate springs from Tony Hart fitted to my car so I had to roll the rear arch lips to stop the tyres rubbing.

I love chrome wire wheels and have got them on my TR4.

They do require an awful lot of upkeep though. Be prepared to do a lot of cleaning to keep them sparkling (you can't see the old toothbrush in the photo)

                    Regards

Nice to see an older gentleman caring for his rims.

They will fit MGB, but they will need spacers on the rear wheels to account for the large castle nut of the B's back axle.

Stag pcd is the same as:

                            Big triumphs
                            MGB
                            Reliant scimitar
                            Datsun 240z
Ford Mustang first gen (6 cylinder cars only - v8's are 5 stud)

I used to have a list of about 40 makes / models that would fit but I can't seem to find it at the moment!
