    Bl**dy useless Royal Mail!

Ordered some cooling bits, s/steel pipes and hose from Paddocks late on Tuesday, Graham posted them Wed morning, stayed in all day Thursday and Friday, still no delivery, rang Graham yesterday morning (Sat), he gave me a tracking number and it showed it had tried to deliver Thursday but no one in, so I had to drive 1/2 an hour each way to pick it up from the depot and when I looked at the label, it said, 'if no answer, leave in box by front door, no sig required.

Now I remember it was pouring down Thursday most of the day, and without getting my self into trouble here, I allegedly reckon the driver pulled up outside and didn't even get out of the van for fear of getting wet, he/she didn't even post a card through the door, how f**king annoying is that, I want me postage refunded!!!

I'm with you on poor service.
I sold some small parts to a fellow member. Royal Mail managed to lose them in the post. Now they are trying to wrangle out of paying compensation by every means possible. The latest hurdle is they want proof that I owned the parts and an independant statement of value.

    Boll...ks!!

    I fully understand your frustration

I posted a part to Chris (VMad) a while back, and it took them 2 weeks, even I could have walked from here in one !
Considering the bind they're in, you would imagine they'd take some trouble. Martin.

I think it's human nature to always remember the incidents when items fail to arrive as soon as we would like, and forget all the times when things arrive on time and in good nick etc.

It may be that I am spoilt in this part of the country?, my postie is excellent and will go to great lengths to ensure that items I have ordered get to me (if nobody is home, he even takes items to my wife's place of work, rather than leave us a card etc..!)

Could just be that people in this part of the country appreciate a good job when they get one..!

I'm always the first to give credit when it's due and our last postman was fantastic and I have mentioned several times on this forum how usually good their service is, even in my part of the country, unfortunately we now have a new one and even though I've given him written permission to leave small parcels in a designated safe area, he refuses too.

Back to my original moan, this was by Royal Mail parcel force, not the usual posty.

you've got no chance getting them to leave it, you would think they had to get past the death star to leave a bloody package at my house ! but at least I'm on first name terms at the sorting office and I don't need I.D. any more

The reason that the postman wont leave parcels at houses where no one is in is because it is against royal mail policy and if they are caught they will be disciplined or even dismissed .this is because so many packages are stolen from peoples steps and royal mail have to pay the compensation

getting them to pay compensation is about as easy as getting on a plane with a bag made by semtex!

they will (allegedly) leave parcels in your "safe place" as long as you state it in writing for them to do so which I've done, however despite my complaints they keep blaming the postie !!

My new postman won't, I gave him a signed letter authorising him to post 'signed for' letters through the door but he refuses to and the parcel last week stated on the label to leave in safe place, they didn't even leave a card.
