    **** fuel pipe

Well all i can say is check the quality of your fuel hose! and buy decent stuff.

got the stag out today 3rd day in a row fuel was going all over the place. turns out the pipe has split by the T piece under the bonnet.

the pipes only a year old this week in fact!

thankfully we were not on the road and it wasn't hot. if the engine had been hot it would have been a gonner!

so yeah, check your fuel hoses regularly !!

Nothing wrong with my fuel hose i shall be passing 8 cans of special brew through it today, this will enter my expansion tank and exit through the over-flow pipe later.

I wonder if the pipes were too small? It seems quite common for 6mm hoses to be fitted onto 8mm fittings, they will often fit if pushed hard enough.

I also check that hoses are marked with the test sped (SAEJ30R6 etc) and from a reputable manufacturer.

Ben, this is spooky. Got a call from my father this morning and guess what "I am stuck at the side of the road and there is fuel coming from a split pipe just after the fuel filter"

A pen knife cut and using the surplus pipe got him home and now going to renew the piping today.

        Spooky

Hi, I've got that stuff, and it does look the business, but with E5 and the threat of E10 I think it's vulnerable and invisible. Any thoughts folk ? Martin.

Referring to the ethanol? Well yes, but i have gone on the idea that a thick rubber pipe will last longer.

and i guess soon they will invent a new pipe resistant to it...

there is talk of an 'additive' being produced...

seems to be an issue within the boat industry as well...

There must be a fuel resistant pipe available already. All new cars are supposedly suitable for fuel containing ethanol.
