Radiator removal and spruce up

Gent's, I plan to remove my radiator when I'm next at home. Not because it's leaking just for a clean up and paint.
I would imagine that to recoat it you would have to use a high temp paint
Any suggestions or advice, or things to do, or not to do when the radiator is removed.

give it a good flush back and forth when out mike and use the hose in both ends until it runs clear in both directions .you can use radiator paint available in most colours including black from B£Q it comes as a spray or brush on with the spray you can blow over the rad fins to give it a new look but gently clean the crap out with comp/air first

Hi Mike, Rad paint is special, it has high solids so you don't need much, and as the coat is thin it has little effect on heat transfer. Do make certain you use car radiator paint, not domestic. Martin.

Get yourself a large pizza a few beers empty the box cut the lid of it and trim the sides put it behind the radiator it stops the fins from being damaged by the fan when you remove the radiator have a slice of pizza and a beer you have earned it. It worked for me, I used a radiator paint like Martin said came up great, not kidding about the pizza box.
