    revotec

I have a revotec thermo switch fitted.
On the way to the national i endured 5 and 10 mile traffic jams took 2 hours to drive 40 miles anyway car run perfect no temp problems all the way to norfolk 10 hrs running. (400 miles)
On the way back hood down sun shining noticed temp rising had to stop and adjust temp controler so it came on earlier this kept hapening every time i was running at 70 mph + getting near catthorpe interchange i stopped and really turned it down . ran all the way to bristol all ok returned to cornwall all fine.
Took car out for a nice run along coast road helston - penzance- st just- and over to st ives had to stop and readjust temp controler so it came on later as cutting in very early engine running to cool.??
the only idea that i can come up with is at 70 mph+ the revotec is getting chilled by airflow and giving a false reading. it is placed in top hose.
has anyone else had this problem.
Do i need to insulate the revotec?

Really at 70MPH there should be no need for the fan to cut in at all. If its needing to be on at 70MPH I would look elsewhere like thermostat, silt in the rad etc.

Hiya, first get a capilliary temp gauge so you know exactly what's happening, then strike a happy medium with the fan temp. Unless of course you have the prob Ian speaks off, and that's a straightforward fix. Smile - you've got a Stag Martin.
