Jokes (please stop)

I am really fed up with all the very poor taste and poor quality jokes.
Please can it be stopped as there is plenty of forums out there that sick jokes can be exchanged
I am not a prude,far from it but this is getting very very boring

You could treat them as you would if you saw something on the telly you didn't like! i.e. switch off or change channel.

I do agree though that many of the jokes are old and boring but then a "gentleman" prodded him with a ****ty stick so maybe he is annoyed or something? dunno.

But when you click on what's new like I did today,you get a complete page of crap jokes

Could the forum be changed so the jokes do not appear in the wants new section.

PS I have 40 years of working in the least PC environments possible - Merchant Navy and Oil Rigs - and am as thick-skinned as they come. Some of the so-called jokes posted lately may be OK for rig-floor banter, but not published on a club forum. Sorry.

Totally agree. My 'phone probably has worse stuff on it but I circulate to people I know, not an open car club forum.

My only worry is not losing my phone which would be a major inconvenience but someone finding it......

Must say that I am a bit surprised that after the guy was "red carded" even more jokes come pukeing out, he must have elephant skin.

TBH i didn't find the joke offensive, I wouldn't even have been offended if you had replaced the word Scottish with the words "Richardthestag from High Wycombe", it was mildly amusing but nowhere near as funny as the massive knee jerk overreaction. IMHO

I also have a phone full of received txt msgs that I wouldn't dare publish.

Ok Malcolm no more sick jokes on the "JOKE" forum, i agree they are old and some in poor taste but it is a joke forum, if you and a few others do not like jokes that possibly contain sensitive material you should not look on the JOKE forum .
I post jokes on the forum to keep a contact with other members going as there is not a lot wrong with my stag i do not need to speak on the main forum feeling a bit left out corny jokes were it.
As a point of interest i have lots of pm's asking me to carry on posting the jokes, there is one good one for every ten crappy ones, I have done enough apoligising to everyone offended even though they had the choice to read it or not, the very heading jock joke, gay joke etc.etc. should have been a clue.....Steve (crappy joke publisher ret.)

OK guys, lets close this thread and others relating to the jokes and from now on, just take other poeples feelings into consideration. I think the rule should be, if in doubt, dont post it and that of course applies to any posting, not just the jokes. We need jokes and just hope stripping some of the PC out will leave enough for us to have a laugh, as let's face it, we need one now and then. Andrew

Dave is pretty correct, what we accept in a working environment, is not always acceptable on the likes of this forum.
It's a pretty thin line to walk, and there is always the chance of causing offence, even though there is nothing malicious meant by it.

However, I was under the impression that the jokes section had been specifically set up for those who are into that type of stuff, and to segregate such stuff from the normal run of the mill Stag discussions.

Not sure where this will go now, but to be honest I never read the jokes section, so I'm never offended. So that’s that!!!
