Door Locks

Hi

I'm finishing off a rebuild. As part of this I've fitted new door handle bowls and external handles. These and the internal handles are working fine to open and close the doors. However, I can't lock the door either externally with the key or internally with the handle. Any thoughts?

Most likely the locking mechanism is fouling on the back of the door (the vertical section housing the locking mechanism). If you have fitted SOCTFL door skins the handle holes are currently slightly too far back you will need to elongate the holes slightly, towards the front of the car. I also had to cut and weld the rotating locking mecahnism to shortern it slightly.
