Its a rip off I agree.
We already pay Tax to use the roads and then pay tax again to buy the fuel. There is no justification for congestion charges or toll roads if the roads and towns are "public" Its different if the roads are privately owned or funded.
UK publically owned infrastructure has been privatised though. (Increased competition was the justification) what a roaring sucess
One thing I have to say in their favour, the M6 toll road is always deserted, of course they have to keep bunging the price up because it isn't meeting it's costs, that is, paying dividends to the shareholders, but what the hell, we prosperous motorists can afford it ? M.
