    MK II striker plates

Are replacements easily sourced? And are they really as easy as they look to remove (just a few big screws). I have a history of remiving things that look straightforward only to discover a bunch of exploding springs, clips and cogs.

    Hi Richard,

I'm pleased to be able to answer 'yes' and 'yes'

I bought a new striker plate from Rimmers when I first got my car and it wasn't too expensive.

The two big screws go into loose fit captive nuts inside the B pillar that allow a fair bit of adjustment. I guess the screws might just be really tight but an impact driver or just a clout on a decent phillips screwdriver should get them loose.

    Good luck.

    Cheers

    Julian
