    Oil pump o rings

    Hi All,

Does anyone know the sizes of the two o rings in the oil pump?
The one between pump and block, and the smaller relief valve one.

I had a patch of oil under the car the other day, after leaving it ticking over. Had a look today and it is a bit oily around the pump area, but not running out to leave a patch when the engine is running, so don't know what that was about.

Anyhow I have some o rings from the previous owner, but don't know what they are for.

    Cheers.....Al

    Hi Al,

I'm not sure of the exact size I'm afraid but a word of warning.

Inside the pump there's another O ring between the body and the cover of the pump. It's the same diameter as the one that goes between the pump and the block, however it is NOT the same thickness (quite a bit thinner) so you need to be careful that you don't use one of these by mistake.

    Cheers

    Julian

Think I have an o ring kit in the garage Al..... want me to have a look?

Got 2 complete oil pump o ring kits.....

Both large o rings about 62mm o/d - the one between the pump halves is 1.5mm thickness diameter, the pump to block is about 2.5mm diameter, and the pressure relief valve is 21mm o/d and 1.5mm thickness...
