Can't believe i was the only motorist (that i saw)with a George Cross today.no wonder this country's going to the dogs.

I'm guilty, like the vast majority in this country of allowing St.George's day to pass largely unnoticed and uncelebrated, whereas far more people tend to make a fuss on St. Patrick's day:?Nothing against the Irish of course, but why does everyone else celebrate their day and not ours?

Looks like someone took exception to this racist bigotry and kicked in the side of your van, Mick.
As for not flying the flag; guilty as charged. I usually do, but 'er indoors doesn't like to draw attention and as she was out in the Stag with me I did as I was told :X.

Well, I'm in Dublin and I was out last night celebrating St Georges day with some colleagues based on the fact they always drag me out on paddyd day. I was meant to be at a dinner in London but work pressure forced me to pull out, but it's an annual event, very patriotic, flags, singing, traditional dinner etc. so I'll be there next year.
I also had a very very long and frank conversation with someone who did not support celebrating the day although he is english but with a family history back to the Indian subcontinent.
Only problem is that today I'm very very jaded, can't type properly and have a sore head.

Interesting point..... can you be truly English (with all that means) with a family history back to the Indian subcontinent?
