      I'd have thought that low prices makes it more likely that Stags will be scrapped rather than restored. Less Stags means less spares availability (other than used parts from scrapped cars). This can't be good.

          You are so right, but there must be a balance! we need stags to get restored rather than scrapped because we need enough of them on the road to make production of spares worthwhile to the the manufacturers so that the spares are not too expensive. on the other hand we need them to be worth enough restored to make it worthwhile restoring them in the first place. I suspect these are incompatible requirements. This is why we need soctfl so badly and for them to be doing a great job IMHO!!!
