Trouble is, I'm still waiting for my the winnings from the last one so I'd better chase it up in case it's a scam...........

I was watching a VW camper on a well known auction site, it was one of the new old style ones with the water cooled engines that sell for 35K+ new. Anyway this particular one had a buy it now price of 8.5K which I knew was too good to be true. E-mailed the seller several times to confirm the price and the details which they did. However when we asked to view the vehicle all we got back was a link to another site where we could buy it now for 8.5K, for some strange reason they didnt want us to come and view it. Obviously this is some kind of scam but would anyone actually pay out 8.5K for a vehicle they hadent seen apart from a picture I certainly wouldnt but I guess the "seller" thought someone might.

Yep, My Dutch neighbour has a pal in Spain who coughed up for a Dutch registered camper in Glasgow, sight unseen, at an address in a street that I know. But that number does not exist. They are definitely out there and the attraction is the cheap price.

I had the same with a speed boat, ridiculous price but could,nt resist it, emailed the sellar and asked to come and view it in Glasgow. Neadless to say it was a scam.

Three years ago I saw a car on "Mobile.de" which was very interesting at an extremely attractive price. When I mailed to the seller, hes wrote back that the car was in Milano. As one of my best friends lives near Milano, so I suggested that my friend could view the car. The seller wrote back that he lived in London and worked for the Italian embassy there. He even sent me a fax from a London fax number ( not the embassy's one!) asking me to send 1000.00 GBP so that he could fly to Milano for the viewing.
I then handed the case to the police. They found out that this email transaction was handled via a Romanian IP address. But they found out no more...
