    Cylinder head suprise.

I had one of those rare days where i could crack on with the stag, and todays mission was to remove all the valves check for damage and relap the seats, all was going ok until i removed all the valves and found in the left hand head one loose valve guide with about 4 - 5 mm play in it, and in the right hand head one guide was holding on to it`s valve and could only be removed with a little gental persuasion, it just goes to show that you need to check everything..

Glad it was found before the heads were reunited with a nice rebuilt block..

    Cheers

Phew ! I wonder if that owes anything to poor old Ray's experience ? Like I said, you're getting too good at this. Martin.

Just goes to show, if you have an engine half to bits, it is worth checking everything else as well. Imagine how sick you would have felt if you had put it back together like that!

I have measured all the valve springs and have found a few are a around 2 mm shorter than others along with non existant valve clearences on the inlet valves, will it ever end..
