After looking for 15 years, I've finally managed to buy these - and I'm chuffed These are 3/8ths drive but they also come in 1/4. Martin.Chrome 2 reduced.jpg
They're a fixed angle drive, like a UJ, as you rotate one end, the other end turns with it while those rods turn and move in and out, quite wierd but very useful, have you ever come across a UJ that will work properly at right angles ? Martin.

Hi Martin, I have been in engineering and motorsport since I was 16 many years ago. I have never seen these tools. What are they called and do they work effectively? Should be better than a dangally universal.
Cheers Ian A
I bought them from a trader at Stoneleigh for £15. They're called skeleton drive and they'll take about 40 ft.lbs. Google - tools skeleton drive, and they come up. Wish I'd known years ago. As you say Ian, much better than a UJ just not as strong, which usually doesn't matter. I'm going to add the quarter drive now I've tried them. Martin.
Thanks for the great information, I did a little more digging and found them at them at Sears which is a big retailer in the states for $10 a piece 1/4 and 3/8 shipped to my door $ 25 you can't beat that.
Thanks again for the info I am sure I can find a lot of uses for them.
I always pop in to at least one Sears tool department when I'm in Phillie but have never seen them in store. Are they only for online ordering? Do you have the part numbers?
