Carrying a bit of speed out of the roundabout in my opinion but going well. Anyone on here?

Stag gets a bit of praise for speed in the TVR community...

Probably standard. How about this theory: The Stag is doing a good speed into the roundabout. The TVR is almost stopped posing for the camera. It then has to accelerate hard to match the Stags speed.
As we know the Stag will embarrass many cars if allowed to rev.
Stags are well balanced and can handle their power. Many tvrs have too much power for the chassis and or driver to handle. Hence in real terms the difference may not be as great as expected. IMHO.Last edited by KOY 23; 9 November 2011, 11:41.

It was a short distance as well John. There is often a debate on buying the 4 or 5 ltr. 100 more bhp. It is said you can drive the 5 like the 4 but not the other way around. The only time I have driven a very fast one, the owner said I could floor it but on with the car on a flat run and front wheels straight ahead. Acceleration is very addictive

Saying that, I did enjoy the drive of a Chimaera 500 quite some time ago.

The one I drove was a rebuilt 500 - genuine 330. The TVR press ones usually had the quoted power for road tests etc and of the two V8's the AJP is the more honest power wise as standard.
My car was owned by TVR for the first 6 months of its life for demos and still has between 230 and 240 dependent on rolling road of the quoted 240, so I am happy apart from it wont rev past 5000 at the moment.
Russ and I are doing a few checks on it today with some plug in voltage readers for the fuel injection to see if it is genuinely running lean or just thinking that it is.
We need to keeo the car above 3400 revs and on full throttle for as long as possible. Not quite sure if there are any roads (private of course) that are going to be long enough to do this as we need at least 3 or 4 seconds to get a test result, which rules out first and second and third gets us rapidly into license losing territory...
