Had a run out in the Stag today to a place called "Pistyll Rhaedr" which is located 15 miles west of Oswestry in Denbighshire (North Wales).
Shortly after leaving Crewe we passed through Nantwich and saw a dark blue stag (still with hardtop on) parked up by the lake. We exchanged waves with the driver. Was that anybody on here?
To get tp "Pistyll Rhaedr"you come off the A483 onto the B4580 and go to "Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant" and then follow the signs to "Pistyll Rhaedr". Bascially you keep driving up ever narrowing and windier roads until you run out of road and you are in the carpark of a small cafe at the foot of a HUGE waterfall. Carpark fee is £1.50. From there you can take one of several walks up the hills. The one we recommend is up to the top of the waterfall. The dog loved it. Be warned, take some good walking boots! Round trip from Crewe was 104 miles.
The chap at the cafe was very taken with our car. He then told us the story about a garage inthe local village that has been storing a stag for the past 15 years because the owner asked for some work to be done to it and the could not pay for it!
Has anybody else got any good suggestions for runs out? Perhaps we could keep this thread going on that basis?
Regards
Bruce
