the car that inspired the colour of my Stag

    Hi All

My father had an M reg maroon Triumph 2000 from new in the early 70's. He then exchanged it for an L reg French blue 2000and its this car that I have a lot of childhood memories of. When it came time to replace it my father gave it to my brother as his first car. Extra headlights etc were then the order of the day!

So, when it came to choosing a colour for my Stag resto, that French Blue 2000 had a big influence.

Apologies for the trip down memory lane but I am currently looking through a load of old family photos that my brother has been busy scanning.

    Regards

    Bruce

My fathers first of three triumphs was this blue,a 2500PI ,boy was it quick...he'd had a run of moggy thou's before ,so a triumph was very special!Still the BRG that my stag will be painted is to match that of my Jaguar.

Very nice Bruce, i have always loved my fathers 2500PI estate, i remember comming back from family in dalkeith, scotland, non stop in 41/2 hours!!!!! mom dad 3 kids and a boot full cases. One of the best memories, the next was all the trouble he had with the fuel injection ! i always said he needed to DRIVE it lol

My late father had a Triumph 2000 Mk1 in the 1960s.

It was red with a white roof (I know what you are thinking, but it did actually look nice)

            The registration was BVT305C.

My wife says that it is sad that I can remember the registrations of not only all my personal cars, but also my fathers too.

            Regards

            Peter

I can too. My wife would say I'm sad anyway, though.
