B post T bar light

What does the inside of the B post light look like I have a MK1 which has lights on both B posts but all that is there are the two contacts that would hold the bulb and the wires connecting them no type of holder fixing them any body have a picture of the light assembly the book only shows the lens bulb and trim. Or are there any sources for parts for this application.

Hi Stuart,

Although I have a Mk 2, when I had my B post covers off a while ago, I noticed the cut out in the metal backing that looked like the same size as the light in the centre of my T bar so I guess the lamp units are the same.

I notice now that Rimmers now show a lamp unit for sale: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID005344 although there is no picture.

Hi Drew,

I actually meant the removable B post cover. It's got trim material on the inside face but it has a metal backing. This metal backing has a rectangular hole in it (and possibly a couple of screw holes ?)

On a Mk 2 this hole is invisible as it is covered by the trim material.

Mine is like the second picture that Drew posted the wires come through a grommet but it has no bulb holder other that the 2 copper connectors. The Mk 2 has the same light only one of them so there has to be a bulb holder I think the one that is for sale is just the lens,chrome bit and the bulb.Still looking for a solution.

Hi Stuart,

No bulb holder as such, the contacts just clip into the lens plastic moulding.
The chrome surround holds it to the b-post.

is there any alternatives to connect b post lights like this? I've broke the electrical copper connections to one of my b post festoon bulbs
