brake lights remaining on

Hi All

The brake lights sometimes remain on after the brake pedal is released. Happens randomly. The old girlis dueher MOT next month so I need to get it fixed pronto.:?

I see a new brake switch is only £4.75 from Paddocks. Would fitting a new one of those fix the problem?

Any suggestions?

I would go for this. Don't know if you can take them apart. For that money is it worth messing about?

The brake light switch is located in the drivers footwell and is directly operated by the brake pedal. It is easy to operate by hand if the brake pedal is held down to check that it works. You can remove one of the wires to see if the problem is the switch or the wiring.
