Hi Sukh
An interesting machine, but I don’t think I will be buying it, after studying the photos I am of the opinion this machine is a wringer, the machine was registered in 1965, and I believe it is wrong for the following reasons.
1. Cylinder head and barrel have been changed (from a Barracuda or later), or the engine is from a later model, may be a BSA 250cc Barracuda introduced in 1967 (the first with a square barrel).
2. Wrong front forks fitted, maybe from a much later 250cc or even a BSA Bantam Bushman/D14/4S from about 1968.
3. Wrong front mudguard fitted (to long)
4. Wrong rear chain guard (sitting to high, and to far from the rear sprocket)
5. The headlamp also looks to have come from a BSA Bantam, and I am sure this machine with this engine fitted would have had a speedometer, which indicated a speed up to 100mph or may be more?
6. BSA never fitted the horn under the headlamp (mostly fitted on the front engine mounting lug, or under the seat).
Also looking at the position of rear brake operating lever it suggesting this machine has done more then 3600 miles (lever to far forward) I could go on, having said all that it does not look a bad bike. But may be that is why it has not sold, and the only offer on the machine was for £600.
