Yep, my Citroen does it, but you can easily de-activate that function if you want.

I can't see it failing the MOT on that though, as it unlocks all doors when one is opened and doesn't lock till it's on the move again.

So unless Mr MOTer has gone driving and then is testing the car, without having got out of it, you'll be ok. (Unless he drives then climbs in the back, opens the rear window and proclaims 'ah ha - this door can't be opened from the outside' ) I totally agree that Seat's words are pretty patronising.

    Cheers

I cant see the MOT guy trying to open your doors at 5 mph or more. If the car is stopped the doors should open when unlocked. Pretty straight forward really. There is no need to change anything if halogen nead lamps are fitted, if you fitted HID you cant just change the bulbs for the MOT as the system is totaly different and a washing and levelling sytem will have to be installed at the same time. Simple dont fit HID lighting systems. The only other changes affecting the Stag really are the split rubber gaiters on ALL suspension joints... should have always been a fail in my book. Insecure battery again a loose battery should have always been a fail. (Watch out if you have relocated it it must be secured properly!) The power Steering checks (We dont have warning lights for this so they aren't needed. The level should be checked regularly anyway so its your own fault if it fails for that. Keep your cars in good condition and regularly check the lights..even on your modern! How many cars do you see with a headlight out these days. In dark mornings it can be lethal!

I agree with most of above, it's common sense. Just wanted to clarify one point about HID bulb changeover. If the suppliers instructions have been followed, the original bulb connectors are still in the headlamp bowl and are simply swapped over, no need to remove ballast. It's just like changing a bulb.

Agree also about one eyed cars being a menace, met one the other night with both offside headlight and parking lights out. Glad I had good lights. A good HID lamp lasts around 6 times longer than a good halogen.

HIDs are like marmite, but once you have used them you don't want to go back.

        John.

The rules also state that on performance cars where the suspension is hard that the self leveling on HID is not required, so if you have adjustable shockers, wind them up to hard.

That's a good tip. After that, all you need is a performance car!
