New Years day meet at Brooklands Museum

Promises to be the largest new years day gathering in the south east!

Myself and family will be there around10:30-11 if anyone else is coming along. My mobile number is in the mag under South East London section if you'd like to catch up for coffee or some company while stilling around.

    See you there!

    Never made it there...
Strike 1 for 2012. Broke down 300 yards from home. Carb flooded.
Towed car back into the garage then didn't want to look at it again today - too mad with it, so just shut the garage door and walked away. Will have a look tomorrow.

      Hi Steve.

      Thats a shame.

Needle valve stuck, was fuel peeing out of the overflow pipe?

      John.

          Hey John,
Yep, fuel spilling out all over the place. I haven't driven the car for about a month now. Will be checking anything stuck on my weber (wat!?) carb in the morning. Now in acceptance phase so by tomorrow morning I may just be willing to open the garage and not curse at what lays inside.
It was running just fine for 10 minutes at idle before I left home (was fitting a child seat) so made it just worse as I had to swap the child seat back to the family car and resign myself to grocery shopping instead of a great new years day gathering.

Just really annoyed right now that this happened at all given the reliability of my car to date. Now pondering how long it is until my 03 plate family car kicks me for no apparent reason.

Was with the family only doing 1500 rpm in 2nd gear so doubt the tunnel run experience last month is related. Still waiting on my new, non-stag pump. You're stealing my future thunder!
Something is sticky in the carb. I'm just going to poke it with a stick then if that doesn't help I'll ask for someone else on the forum to come have a look - if you or anyone else is game I'll throw in some Champes you can only get in France if you fix it

              Hi Steve.

Forgot you had a weber. That's a worry as I thought we had bought out of float valve problems

Would be interested to know what you find?

              Is yours under guarantee?

              John.

A few of us made it at one point there were 9 Stags parked together cannot guarantee they were all SOC Members but it was a good turnout.

Something sticky in the carb - did you spill any polish on it?

Interesting that there were very few hardtops being worn and one top down on New Years Day!!

That was Deano with the top down...but he did wear a hat!
My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.
