Tonight was 3 Kings night in Los Cristianos (equivalent to Xmas Eve in the U.K.),
where there was a parade through the Town featuring the 3 Kings riding camels,
in rememberance of the ones who came bearing gifts to celebrate the birth of Christ.
However this year preceeding the camels, and part of the parade were 3 open topped Classic Cars :-
a white "pagado" roof type Merc SL, a blue Triumph TR4, and a red Triumph Stag!
It was quite touching in a way because we were sat watching the parade with Janet,
widow of former Club Member Robert who recently passed away, and who himself
owned an old Merc, and a Stag with the registrtation "15 TAG", cars which were present
at Robert's funeral I believe.
Janet had come to Tenerife a week ago on a short holiday, and it was her last night before
flying back to her Stoke home, and she was here with her twin sister Kath and her husband,
and wasn't aware of the traditional 3 Kings parade until I told her about it, and said she wanted to see it.
We had just been talking about Robert's cars when the parade began, and lo and behold, for the first
time that I recall, the parade featured Classic Cars - a Stag, a Merc, plus the TR4,
quite a strange co-incidence in view of the circumstances.
