i had some similar probs with after market pumps
mine was pushing out 6lbs which is way too much for the needle valves which are 2 1/2 to 3 lbs
ended up fitting a regulator
that sorted it
wonder how many other flooding cars are caused by this?

The standard pump should put out 2.7 psi any more and as Alan said it will flood.get yourself a vacuum/pressure gauge which is a great piece of kit and cheap, and check out your fuel pressure really simple once you determine what you have that will help eliminate the guesswork. If you have to put in a regulator and set it to 2.7 psi.
cheers Stuart
