Could anybody recommend Stag dealers/ retailers?

I realise that it is folly to start naming dealers who have given folk a hard time but as I'm in the market for a Stag and some dealers seem to have a number...and I have a perfectly beautiful Ford racing Puma that I might Trade in...
I'm sure that naming dealers who have given good advice and service can't be a problem?
I also have a 1997 30k from new Scorpio Cosworth estate, but I'm not quite as keen to part with that.....All Panther Black and Chrome wheels...Big Oaf that it is
DON'T start me on FUEL CONSUMPTION...oh no not that hornet's nest...
    Cheers

Bonnietiler, welcome to the club, still looking out for a hero?

Try Robsport in Herts, Tel No 01763 262263, I generally use them as 'go to first', I find them helpfull (they don't mind giving advice) & reliable, & they send spares etc off PDQ. They got high praise on a forum thread within the last month.

See their adds in Practical Classic etc.

And although I've had no dealings with them personally, Cherished Classics do get quite a few good reports: http://www.cherishedclassiccars.com/...Car_Sales.aspx

I've spoken to a few owners who've bought there and they've been very happy. His premises may not look great but the quality of his cars is. He might also be interested in your Puma (I've always fancied a Puma - how much are you after for it?, although I'm sure I can't afford it - I've got a Stag to run )

      Cheers

Hello Julian, I suppose all cars are the same really, there are those which require a lot of work and are proper money-pits (cheapest), there are absolute out of the showroom jobs (dearest) and then really good beautiful cars with the work done (middle) Ford Racing Pumas are exactly the same as Stags in that respect I suspect.
Ford racing Pumas price range is £2500-£5500-£7500.
Mine is in the middle..75k Loads of History..MOT without advisories..New Alcon discs (£450) front Alcantara seat(£300) Alcantara steering wheel(£300) Eibach Front and rear suspension (£350)New Avon ZZ3 all round(£300),,,The list like road goes on forever!
New front splitter...Lower wishbones...drop links..front pads...Battery, wishbone bushes, ball-joints (all genuine Ford)...Ford racing engine cover...chrome battery cover...stainless tailgate struts...gawd have I really spent that much...
You never get your money back do you???

I bought my car from Robsport 6 years ago and don't regret it. I had a bit of an ignition problem early on but they came and trailered the car away and fixed it all and then brought it back, a good 200+ miles so I would have no concerns in recommending them.

I can highly reccomend cherished classics in Leicester. Lee court is the man to speak to, his knowledge is second to none on stags. I've had mine two months and it's running like a dream! Faversham classics are also top draw would reccomend highly. I would speak to them before you buy as they will give excellent advice. Good luck Tony.
