I'm not sure if they do or not, but I know there are some wildly different prices. I bought some vinyl seat covers last year from Rimmers only the to find I could have saved a fair wadge if I got them from Aldridge Trimmers. I might sell these in a couple of months, they are still in their packages, because I might see if I can afford some with leather facings (as opposed to complete leather) from Aldridge. There have been some comments here about foams from different sellers and the way they fit. I don't know if that is down to a different manufacturer or maybe differences in batches.

I would be inclined to buy from Aldridge. they supply at least one of the main Stag suppliers. Paddocks i think. I bought the seat back foams from them last year, along with a couple of meters of beige trim material for another project. I would certainly use them again.

Is there anything special about the foams that a good upholstery shop could do or cut to fit? My seat side bits are needing repaired.

            cheers Stuart

Seat base foams can easily be made by the trimmer but the back foam need to be purpose made I got mine from paddocks but I did not know of Aldridge at the time.

As someone mentioned, Paddocks get their seat trims from Aldridges, however Paddock's prices are often cheaper

I've had quite a bit of stuff from Aldridges and reckon their quality is first class - but remember to check Paddock's price first !

                  Cheers

The side bits or bolsters were originally moulded, and some of the replacements such as Aldrige are also moulded but not cheap. They can be made up from sheet foam cut to special shape and glued together but this is much more specialised, and I would think a typical general trimming shop might not be able to do that at a reasonable price as there would be a lot of experimentation involved.

If you are going the DIY route, the Aldridge foams are quite easy to fit (see my Technical Section article), but as I said not cheap especially with shipping to USA.

At the risk of being obvious, make sure that whichever supplier you decide on for the squabs make sure you buy the new covers from the same place. I had an interior recently. The trimmer bought some squabs (from Robsport I think but can't be sure) with the intention of using the old covers as a template to make some new ones. However, he found that the replacement squabs were a different shape/size and he ended up having to make a template to complete the job.

                      Gory details here: http://maddesthouse.wordpress.com/20...ome-stretch-2/

                      Good luck.

What about people who dont need new covers? here are plenty of cars that just need new foams.

I think they must have bought the one piece foams, not the Aldridge type which have separate boltsters. If foams dont fit the standard covers they should not be selling them really.
