    Stag spotted in Oxford tonight

Have come over here from the darkside... (TR register). Whilst out in my TR6 i spotted a lovely Stag on Banbury road in Oxford at around 8pm tonight. Hardtop, dark coloured with white SOC written on the doors. Looked like a half cage in the back, sounded glorious going down the road. Would love to see some pics of it...

Needless to say it has tempted me!

For a minute I thought you were referring to Tony Hart's Stag (I don't know of anyone else who races one!).

Truth be told, a friend of mine who worships Jeremy Clarkson (why I don't know) thought mine sounded great (previously referring to it as a rubbish engine etc.).

Difficulty might be finding someone owning up to driving a ragtop car with a plastic lid on. Must say I could never see the point............

        Point 1. It's winter

Point 2 It's a tin top, not plastic.

You are not from the dark side, so welcome.

I know a number of people who are TR and Stag owners, they complement each other.

Sounds very like Tony Harts car.

Be tempted and see you at Malvern

          John.

Hi Trtj, welcome to the forum. I sold my 3A to fund my Stag and have never regreted it. More space, for the dog, more power, more comfort.

You did see my 70's production racing Stag in Oxford, My son, Ashley is using it at the moment while his MR2 is at the body shop, I do hope he was driving it sensibly :-), some kind person drove into his MR2 when it was parked, and no he didn't leave a note with his details.

Follow this link and you will find lots of photos of the Stag in action last year with the HSCC.

                Tony.

What's winter got to do with it? I was out in mine in the snow today, it wasn't snowing hard so I didn't put my hat on, and you're quite right, now I come to think of it, the hardtop I sold the day after I bought the car was metal.

I'm with John on this; although I used to have a similar attitude to you. Only I got fed up with it and the hard top has been on all winter this year. I just don't like driving the Stag with the rag top up as it isn't lined, so it's dark inside and the blind spot is a pain in town. As soon as it starts to warm up properly the hard top will be off again though.
